Growing Brassica In A Raised Bed

The fourth raised bed is for growing brassica, but this bed must wait until I get another delivery of soil. I have used up my ton of soil, filing just three beds.

BUT WHAT’S A BRASSICA?

I thought it would be a bed full of leafy stuff but I have just learned that Brassica include swedes and turnip. I thought they were root vegetables which seems right to me, since they grow underground but I looked them up and realized that I was wrong. Brassica also include sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale and radish.  I will probably only get swedes and kale planted for this season, which is fine. Keeping it simple is probably the best way to go for this still slightly hobbled gardener.  More about growing brassica as soon I get my soil delivered!

Oh and did I forget about lettuce? Well more about that soon as well.

Bye for now, Grace
